People
This concerns, for example, user data recorded through software applications by an organisation's employees or a contact.
Syscon considers the following points important:
- Transparency: Syscon believes it is important — and necessary — to clearly inform users about what happens to their data.
- Right to be forgotten: Syscon allows individuals to have their personal data deleted upon request, unless Syscon can provide a valid reason why that data is necessary for its services.
- Data breach notification duty: In the event of a data breach, Syscon is required to report it to the supervisory authority within 72 hours, unless it can be shown that the breach poses no risk to the personal data involved.
Technology
On the software side, privacy is safeguarded with respect to the following legal points:
Right to be forgotten
The "right to be forgotten" can easily be exercised by blocking the relevant data from use, deleting it, or making it unrecognisable. The available options are:
- Blocking or deactivating use. Data that is no longer in use can be blocked, preventing further use (or misuse) of that data.
- Removing file items and applicants. Job application data is automatically deleted after 1 month. It is also possible to make a person's file items unrecognisable and untraceable.
- Deleting personal data (person, organisation, employee, etc.) is also possible; however, once deleted, data cannot be recovered.
- Research into anonymising personal data. Syscon has an automated process for anonymising personal data.
